Black and white photo of a rural house with a sloped roof, surrounded by trees and fields, with dirt roads and sparse vegetation in the foreground.

It all started in 1916

with a farmhouse …

A two-story white building with brown window shutters, a stone foundation, and a balcony on the upper floor. The building is surrounded by green grass and trees, with an overcast sky in the background.

In 2021, we fell in love with the rolling hills of the Langhe — and with this house in particular. Though time had left its mark and the building was in need of care, its atmosphere was unmistakably special. The walls seemed to hold stories of joyful gatherings and generations past, and we felt immediately connected to its spirit.

What followed was a four-year restoration journey driven by passion and respect for the house’s heritage. The original farmhouse was carefully renovated and brought up to modern standards, preserving its authentic character while introducing contemporary comfort. The former hayloft was thoughtfully transformed into a stylish private apartment, blending rustic charm with elegant design.

A Thoughtfully Curated Interior

At Cascina Borine, we welcome you into our home. The house has been designed to reflect our journey, tastes and passions.

Throughout the house, you will find subtle hints at a history in Asia, blended with the charm of local antiques and designer furniture.

Wildlife and Nature as Part of the Experience

Nature is an essential part of life at Cascina Borine. The large garden and park surrounding the house are dotted with fruit trees which bear fruit one after another through the seasons until autumn: Cherries, wild strawberries, prunes apples, pears, figs, peaches.

The hills around the property are also planted with the famous DOP hazelnut groves, a true symbol of Piedmont and a source of great pride for the region. You will find them all along the garden.

In the quiet of the early morning, deer can often be seen grazing at the edge of the property, while rabbits and hares occasionally cross the garden paths. These gentle encounters with local wildlife are part of the peaceful rhythm of the landscape and add to the unique charm of the experience.
