A charming pair of Chinese porcelain figures inspired by the Hehe Erxian (和合二仙), the Two Immortals of Harmony and Union. Traditionally portrayed as two jovial men sharing a moment of laughter and companionship, they have long been associated in Chinese culture with harmony, happiness, friendship and a happy marriage. Their expressive faces and wonderfully informal poses give this traditional auspicious subject a particularly joyful character.
